Computer Labs

BSB has multiple system/application software to ensure a future-ready learning environment, effective teaching, and seamless academic operations. The systems are connected to an in-house server. 

• Software for Project Management: Jira, MS Project, or similar tools.

• Statistical software: R, SPSS for data analysis 

• Operating system: Windows or alternative OS, suitable for the students’ requirements 

• Software for Database management: For courses in database application and theory, software such as PostgreSQL, Oracle and MySQL can provide hands-on experience in database querying, creation, and optimisation techniques.

• Virtualisation Software: The computer labs equip VMware and VirtualBox to simulate various computing environments. 

• Office Suite: For presentations, spreadsheets, and document creation, Microsoft Office is used in computer labs 

• Software for Designing and Graphics: Students from design, media and communication backgrounds benefit from tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). 

• Security and Antivirus Software: Robust antivirus software in our labs protects the whole system against phishing, malware and other online threats.

 
Other Considerations:

• Lab regulations and rules: Clear guidelines are given for access, usage and operational guidelines in the lab. 

• Secure storage: We have designated areas or lockers in our labs so that students can store their personal belongings during lab sessions.

• Technical support: We have a dedicated IT support team in the labs to handle software and hardware issues, if any.
