Dr. Sudipto Bhattacharya
Principal
Dr Sudipto Bhattacharya dons multiple hats as a management educator and administrator, entrepreneur, researcher and author, motivational speaker, corporate trainer & start-up mentor.
He has a total of 33-plus years of experience, of which 10 years were in the Textiles, Garments, and Fashion industry in India and abroad, and 23-plus years in academics, research, corporate training, start-up mentoring, and promoting citizens’ rights. He completed his Bachelor's in Textile Technology in 1993, thereafter served the organized textile industry and garment export houses. In 1999, he completed his MBA and plunged into a first-generation start-up. The venture was on fruit pulp extraction, processing, preserving, packaging and marketing with tribal fruit recipes.
Thereafter, he pursued a full-time career in management teaching, research and consulting. He consulted on areas relating to creative solutions to organizational problems, customer trust and engagement, branding organizations and visual merchandising.
In 2003, he worked briefly with BGMEA Institute of Fashion Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh. In his doctoral thesis, he explored Entry and Growth Strategies of Foreign Business Academic Brands in India and was awarded a PhD in management in 2012. In 2013, he was chosen as National Expert by Asian Productivity Organization, Tokyo, to research Entrepreneurship in APO economies. He has successfully designed and delivered MDPs at IIM Calcutta, BESU, Shibpur and VIT University. He has presented papers in national and international conferences, reviewed books of contemporary management literature, published papers in peer-reviewed international journals, co-authored a book "Start-up to Scaleup." and co-edited two books titled "Appreciative Inquiry Approaches to Organizational Transformation" and “Confronting Challenges, Conflicts & Crises (4C) in Managing Businesses.”
In 2010, he was awarded Entrepreneurs’ Educators Certification (Honours) from STVP, Stanford University, and in 2011 was certified as a mentor for start-ups by London Business School. He also got certified from NSTEDB and DST for Managing Business Incubators for Start-ups. In 2012, he was chosen as a resource person by UNIDO to develop an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the West African nations.
A Dream Merchant and Change Maker strongly oriented to the age-old spirituality with origins tracing back to the hermitage of Sages creating knowledge of contemporary relevance, with Gurukul schooling at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur. Works on rural empowerment projects at Pranavananda Inst. of Management & Technology, Bharat Sevashram Sangha. He led a movement for promoting the voice of the youth for sustaining socio-economic development in the face of corruption & crime as a founder member of Vivekananda Youth Society. He is a motivational speaker on public forums and an accomplished Quiz Master.
